# TXT-FZ-MAT

> Returns a 0–100 similarity score for two names. Names that sound the same score high even when spelled differently.

Returns a score from 0 to 100 for how similar two texts are. It is designed for comparing names, so names that sound the same score high even when they are written differently.

* It absorbs differences in spacing, letter case, and name order. Example: `Hong Gildong` and `Gildong Hong`
* Non-English text is transliterated into English before comparison. Example: `홍길동` and `HONG GILDONG`
* **It does not make a decision.** You set the threshold for treating two names as the same.
* Scores for the same input can change when the algorithm is improved.

> [!TIP]
>
> When a name from the account holder lookup ([BANK-KOR-AON](https://developers.argosidentity.com/en/idcheck/unit-api/bank-kor-aon.md)) or ID OCR does not exactly match your member's name, use this API to tell a spelling difference from a different person.

## Billing

The billing unit is `response`, and each call has a `count` of 1. A call is billed when a score is returned; a request that does not match the contract returns `400` and is not billed.
